Should still work: The drugs for shingles (valacyclovir, acyclovir, or famciclovir) are most effective when started early, but at 6 days should help a lot, especially if new blisters were still showing up at that time. Also ask your doctor about steroids (e.g. prednisone) if not already prescribed. A little controversial, but harmless and may help prevent later post herpetic neuralgia (nerve pain). Good luck!
