Probable met: Thyroid ca is a common lesion with significant chance of nodal involvement. Where originally neck dissection employed with thyroidectomy for Ca, if nodes noted at procedure they are locally removed and RAI utilized. With a lump near carotid, its probably anterior jugular and needs local resection. If Ca determined then RAl and dissection limited to + site. Under 30, even with nodes, cure high.
