TMJ: Your treatment was designed to reduce symptoms. Would have been better to determine the cause of your symptoms, then treat the cause. For example, if teeth/jaws not meeting/functioning properly, orthodontic treatment may be the best treatment for your TMJ. Symptoms will recur until cause is eliminated.

Recurring TMJ: The TMJ-TMD condition is chronic, often cyclical and may reoccur during times of stress or/and system overuse. Your TMJ specialist can develop a management plan to keep your symptoms under control and play a role in preventing a recurrence.
