A member asked:

Is a thick 18mm endometrial stripe a cause of concern? i had an us 2 days before my period. but looked at an us from 2 years ago and endo was 1.1cm.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The endometrial: stripe is thickest right before a period and thinnest at the end of the period. 18 mm is slightly above the maximum considered normal. This is called "endometrial hyperplasia." Its significance depends partly on your age, menstrual pattern & the degree of irregularity of the stripe. Your Gyno may need to "sample" or biopsy the endometrium to get a firm diagnosis. Dr. Anne
