Eustachian tube: If you have fluid in the ear or a swollen eustachian tube from a recent viral illness, allergy flare up, or other upper respiratory inflammation, you can hear popping or crackling sounds. Head pressure could be from sinuses. Another possibility, is tempormandibular joint dysfunction & muscle pain can cause your symptoms. You should see an ENT and get fully evaluated.
