See Ear Doctor: An ear infection lasting that long should be evaluated by an ear specialist first, because you need a good exam of the ear with a microscope. This is one of the most helpful tools for figuring out what is going on in an ear. You may just need a special culture or the ear/neck pain might be something else altogether. Let an ear doctor look and decide if you need a CT... Usually don't need contrast.
