Abnormal pap, recommended colposcopy with possible biopsy, have already programmed knee surgery, which one i should have first?

Ask doc.: Likely your knee surgery will have priority but ask your docs. Depending on timing, you may have both done safely. Colposcopy is an outpatient procedure, and has few side effects. You do not receive sedation for this normally. It might be good to have it done first, since your knee will be painful after surgery and make it hard to get into the stirrups on the exam table.

It depends: If you have no history of an abnormal pap smear, and if the pap smear showed atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance (ASCUS) or low grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (LGSIL), then I recommend that you go ahead with the anticipated knee surgery. For a High Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion (HGSIL) you should get the colposcopy first. You may require further treatment.
