I was prescribed ciprofloxacin 500mg for a uti . i threw up within the first 20-30 min . was that enough time for the pill to digest?

Yes, probably: Cipro doesn't usually upset the stomach; maybe something else caused the nausea and vomiting. But after 20-30 minutes, probably enough ciprofloxacin was absorbed to be effective against your UTI. However, it is possible your doctor would advise that the next dose be a bit sooner than originally scheduled. And maybe take it with food. Contact your doctor's office about it. Good luck!

Leave Those Heaves: If you mean dissolve and then get absorbed completely from the stomach &/or intestines,then the answer is "No."If you threw up from some reason other than the Cipro, (ciprofloxacin)then a med to quell your heaves would probably do the trick(try Dramamine).If it was the Cipro, (ciprofloxacin) try it with a little bit of food(like a large pizza with a side of Polish sausage :). You need that med,so call your doc & get a substitute
