Check with MD.: Alcohol can make dizziness (a side effect) worse. Discuss this with your doctor. We don't know about any other meds you are taking or your overall health. Talk to your doc to be sure before drinking alcohol.

Xifaxan (rifaximin) + alcohol: I could find no reason not to drink wine or other alcohol w/Xifaxan (rifaxamin): http://www.drugs.com/food-interactions/rifaximin,xifaxan.html. However it also depends upon why you're taking this medication. If you're taking this for hepatic encephalopathy, then no, but only b/c liver too damaged. If taking for irritable bowel syndrome (diarrhea predominant), then it should be ok.
