No!: Celiac disease is not an infectious disease that you can "catch" from somebody such as a cold. Your child may have a celiac sensitivity, not the disease. They have a problem with Gliadin, a protein common in wheat. You live in Calgary. They have a great Children's Hospital. Make sure that your child really has it. It is overdiagnosed.

Not contagious: Celiac disease is not contagious. It is caused by sensitivity to gluten which is a part of wheat cereal & other cereals like oats and rye. The only treatment is to avoid gluten and eat gluten free food. So the normal child cannot get it from eating with him. U need to be careful while sharing he does not get gluten because that will inflame his bowels leading to many symptoms & complications.
