Cipro (ciprofloxacin) can cause it: While not a common side effect, difficulty urinating is listed as a side effect of Cipro (ciprofloxacin)- see http://www.drugs.com/sfx/cipro-side-effects.html I feel the risks of serious side effects from Cipro (ciprofloxacin) is so great that it should only be used as a last resort when no other good options exist. Prob not: I do not think these meds would cause trouble urinating but the diverticulitis may be contributing. Inflammation low in the colon near the area of the bladder could affect the bladder. Often the bowel also gets somewhat lethargic with diverticulitis. Severe infection can result in possible dehydration which can reduce urine flow. You should probably follow-up with your doctor.
