You need to ask: this question to your doctor who knows your medical history. I do not advise you to treat yourself for an assumed diverticulitis if this is the case.

Typically: Patients are treated with 10-14 days of antibiotics, but there are studies demonstrated if rapid resolution of symptoms that 7 days isn't unreasonable. In fact there are Swedish studies demonstrated that uncomplicated left sided diverticulitis doesn't even necessarily require antibiotics treatment wise(though this really isn't typically the treatment course here in the US.)
