Is it better to take cipro (ciprofloxacin) and amaxacilian together instead of stopping the amaxacilian 1/2 through to help diverticulitis?

Please don't...: Out-patient management of diverticulitis will typically involve antibiotics by mouth that will cover gut bacteria that can grow in the presence or absence of oxygen. Most likely, you are switching from amoxicillin-clavulanate to ciprofloxacin+metronidazole. Taking amox and Cipro is not recommended since it's inadequate coverage and can increase the risk of a bacterial infection called "c. Diff ".
