Flatulence: Excessive flatulence can be from eating gas forming roughage but can also be a sign of lactose intolerance. If you have very uncomfortable gaseous distension, drink hot(not too hot) water and apply a hot water bottle to the abdomen which breaks down the gas. Take simethicone after meals to prevent gas build up. Experiment with your diet to find offending foods or try taking lactaid for milk foods.

Try to avoid: dairy products as you may have lactose intolerance, lending to indigestion of the dairy products which subsequently turn into methane gas produced by bacteria in your intestines. If not lactose intolerant, then you may have poor digestion of certain food groups, including nuts, fatty foods, and certain vegetable proteins including beans, sprouts and high fiber content.
