I was prescribed musinex for mucus thinning, how long can i take for?

Indefinitely: Mucinex, which contains the ingredient guaifenesin, can thin mucus and help you clear the secretion. The effective dose is 1200 mG twice daily, but some people respond to 600 mG twice per day. You can stay on it indefinitely. The only significant side effect of too much guaifenesin is nausea.
