Take as directed: The medication should be spread out to keep a constant amount in your bloodstream; taking them all at once will give a short spike of a lot of amoxicillin and a long time with little or no amoxicillin in your blood stream. The medication will not be very effective.

Not recommended: Amoxicillin for mouth infection is usually taken 500 mg every 8 hours, but may be given 875 mg every 12 hours. Make sure you check with your doctor before making any changes in your medication regiment.
