Yes the inflammation: and pustules in the back of your throat have probably "burst" with proper treatment of the infection. Think of it like a pocket of infection that has just been released. The pain will lessen within the next 24-48 h, but right now things are worse before they get better. It happens: The break in your fever and improvement in general is a sign your treatment is proper. The germ had a few days head start attacking your throat, so the tissue damage in the throat will take a bit longer to respond.
