A quiet joint can mean that the structure of your disc is normal, but there can still be abnormality in the muscles which can be painful and needs treatment. See oral surgeon: See your dentist or get a referral to an oral surgeon for a definitive diagnosis. Were condyle shots taken open and closed? A nightguard just separates your teeth to prevent grinding, but you need to know the etiology of the problem.
