Here are some...: Seeing testes moving and swirling up and down is normal reflecting the contraction & relaxation of cremasteric muscles of the spermatic cords. At to the size or weight, it is estimated by measurement with a ruller and further confirmed with ultrasound measurement as needed. Besides their size, their consistency is important to assess testicular function. More? Ask urologists as needed.

Does a normal ultrasound following epididymitis and scrotal trauma imply that the testicles are alive or could the normal ultrasound be false negative?
If epiddymitis swelling has done damage to testicles, can a ultrasound show anything unusual? Can it show any change as well?
Can infection in the epididymitis or elsewhere in the groin cause scrotal sac/testicle pain and soreness but NOT be detected by ultrasound or urinalysis? Have had my urine tested with an US, both of which were negative for infection?
