I have heard different estimates on what the viability is for blood that is going to be tested via elisa test. i've heard that you should get the sample tested within 3 days 7 days 14 days and up to 30 days if blood is frozen. what is ideal?

IDEAL: is always as SOON as POSSIBLE....LABS will DIFFER on their own upper limits/conditions of STORAGE! Ask the laboratory your Provider is going to use!! Hope this helps! Dr Z

When does this occur: Follow the red cross procedures? Antibody is incredibly stable and red cells are washed to try to get rid of it but are tested before being processed. I don't think this question makes sense. Alternatively, after exposure it takes 2 weeks for a reliable antibody response and sometimes the antigen can be so high it gobbles up all the antibody (but then the antigen level is easily tested for).

Depends: it depends on what test you are running via ELISA. Could you repost and be more specific with what test you are interested in. Thanks Dr R
