Viral infection: Viral infections are usually limited to one to two weeks, although there are some viruses that can hang on much longer, but these are the exceptions. So, it obviously depends on what virus it is. Of course, a sore throat might not be a viral infection at all. There are other things that can cause sore throats that are not infections. I'd get it checked. Could just be reflux.
