Been having this left-sided rib/left-side back pain for months now. It's on and off. I have been to the doc, did an xray(normal) and does not believe anything serious. Blood tests are normal, etc. Still have this issue. Cancer? Concern?

Persistent cough for 4 wks. Lump moving in chest, painful swallowing, shoulder pain, & rib cage pain. Told doc today. Doc not concerned cause x-ray last month was clear. What if this cough goes another month? Scared lung cancer. Smoked for a year.
