Probably nothing: Children do get colds you know. Other much rarer possibilities are that they do occasionally stuff small "foreign bodies" up their nostrils and get a purulent discharge from that. An ENT has fiberoptic scope to look into nose and see what's going on in there. There are other things but I have only 400 spaces.
