A member asked:

What is it called when the gallbladder is enlarged and the patient does not feel any pain?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not sure what you: mean by "enlarged" - does it have stones? Stones is cholelithiasis. Does it have thickened wall but no stones? Gallbladder hypertrophy may be a word but it is not a significant clinical entity or syndrome. Inflamed gallbladder which comes with pain is cholecystitis. Thanks for trusting in HealthTap.
