What protection?: Condoms do not protect fully against HPV infection. Other "protections" do not afford any protection. Any one of your partners could have transmitted the infection. It happens: Studies have shown as many as 70% of college age women are positive. HPV can bypass condoms and pass unnoticed for decades. The wart producing strains would give rise to observed findings within a year or so. The other strains do not produce symptoms in men & will occasionally cause cervical changes in women over time.
