How is urethral syndrome detected? i can't just take antibiotics w/out any confirmed infection due to cdiff history.

Urine culture: Usually urine culture showing typical UTI-type bacteria in smaller than usual numbers. Lab must be alerted to pay attention to small counts and not dismiss the culture as negative. Sometimes an antibiotic trial is needed. UTI Rx 3-5 d rarely triggers C diff. If your doctor is unfamiliar, see infectious diseases specialist. As noted in previous reply, urethral syndrome isn't the only possibility.
