When i write for long periods of time a vein the middle of my thumb shows up & throbs. would i hurt it more by continuing writing or should i stop ?

Your body is ...: ... your friend. When it "speaks" to you, you should listen. It may not do permanent damage to continue writing but it very likely may get more painful and contribute to an overuse syndrome. The pain might then continue even after you stop to rest. Try to manage your schedule so your writing periods are briefer with significant breaks in between. Stay well:)
