Blunt force hand injury 5 months ago. nerve injury noticed a month ago with continued swelling between thumb and index. trouble gripping and holding things for a period of time. when will my sensation, grip and hand go back to normal?

Injury to the hand : Hand injuries can cause injuries to nerves. The thumb and index are controlled by the median nerve . Some nerve injuries take a seconds to resolve, some a year to resolve , some never resolve. More information is needed to answer your question

To objectify: An EMG/ NCV test can evaluate the nerves in your hand and arm, and uncover the severity of the nerve involvement. Depending upon location, and potential compression, focal treatments might be used. The prognosis for recovery can be projected based upon portions of the nerve that are impaired.
