Need to be examined: There are lots of answers to "why," but you need to be examined to determine cause and course of treatment. Sounds like you may need a team consisting of your Dentist, an Orthodontist, an Oral Surgeon, perhaps an ENT and/or Plastic Surgeon. Start with your Dentist, then follow his/her referral recommendations.

Possible mild hemi-: facial microsomia, a congenital malformation syndrome of unknown etiology, and now regarded as part of the facio-auriculo-vertebral spectrum--a collection of malformations of different organ systems that occur significantly more commonly together. The cause is usually unknown. If severe, hemifacial microsomia presents as one side of the face obviously smaller than the other, with plagiocephaly.
