Cortisone face rash: Applying cortisone creams to the face to treat redness can worsen both pityrosporum folliculitis and rosacea. Things may look better when using cortisone initially because cortisone constricts blood vessels and redness seems relieved, but over long term, these blood vessels dilate and bumps develop. This needs prescription meds. Unfortunately no otc products help.

Nizoral (ketoconazole) shampoo: Get 1percent Nizoral (ketoconazole) shampoo and use it on your areas with the fungus that should help until your doctors appointment.
