Iron supplement for anemia/ckd patient: i take 325 mg ferrous fumerate but suffer from constipation. since my iron level is low, doctor said taking it twice a day will help. will single dose 17g miralax work to reduce gi symptoms? thanks

Examine your diet: Most common cause of constipation is your diet. Foods that are constipatory are the grains: rice, barley, oats; milk, bananas. Why don't you 1st try to eliminate those foods from your diet for a week and see if your stools loosen up a bit. In general, not good to counter effects of one medicine by another one.

Yes: Its not easy with iron contributing to constipation but yes miralac should be a good start.
