A member asked:

How accurate is a 5 mins rapid hiv home test (blood) and when is it considered conclusive from last exposure ( wks or mths)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Screening test: It is a screening test. If it is positive, the result needs to be confirmed by a more definitive test. If the result is negative at less than 6 months after exposure, that does not rule HIV infection and testing needs to continue.
