Sure, if unlucky: Many people get strep (and some throw up, but most don't throw up). It's a common illness. If a person got exposed to strep throat germs, and then has cold symptoms or sore throat symptoms, she can get checked out by her primary care doctor. Most doctors can do a rapid strep throat swab test that takes 5 minutes.
