A member asked:

I have a fractured pelvis, should i be in bed all day? 1st day out of hospital, it hurts to walk and stand, car crash. should i try walking

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pelvis fractures: There are essentially 2 different types of pelvis fractures, stable and unstable. Unstable fractures require surgery and would beidentified prior to hospital discharge. Stable pelvic fractures do not require surgery. While it will be painful to weight bear and move around, this is advised. Staying in bed and remaining inactive will increase risk of blood clots and other complications
