A member asked:

Hi my 4 year old had his immunisations 2 days ago and today he has three red marks which are raised near the injection site. is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

This can be normal: it depends on the immunizations. Some vaccines cause a greater local reaction, The 4 yr/o shots are usually MMR, Varicella, IPV and Dtap. Usually a small local reaction will occur. Cool compresses, tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain will help. As long as there are no pustules at the sites this probably is normal
