One or the other: Usually, a person takes one or the other antibiotic for a dental abscess. One can ask the dentist to see if there was a reason to take both antibiotics instead of one or the other... and follow the dentist's instructions.

No harm is likely: Probably you don't need both antibiotics. I would tend to favor clindamycin over amoxicillin, but either probably will work, and clinda has a higher risk of side effects. Did you tell the second dentist you were taking amoxicillin? If not, do it now, then follow his or her advice about which one to continue, or both. In the meantime, taking both the same day won't hurt anything. Good luck!

Pills not the answer: Doubling up on antibiotic will not double the "cure." Antibiotics are given to contain the infection before definitive treatment. The infected tooth material has to be physically removed, or the infection will come roaring right back as soon as you stop taking the meds. You will need root canal treatment or extraction.

See a dentist ASAP: Antibiotics are rarely required and should only be used as an adjunct to dental treatment for infection since they may complicate further outcome. Take the NSAID OTC or Tylenol (acetaminophen) to control pain and see a dentist ASAP.

Yes you can: and you need to get definitive treatment of the infection. Antibiotics just temporize the infection but do not solve the problem.
