Your doctor is your: Your doctor can be your best guide. He must have ordered this test because of some suspicion based on your GI tract function or malfunction. Thickness of wall of the colon usually means inflammation but it is not diagnostic. A colonoscopy is a better way to determine what may be going on inside the lining of your colon.

Abdominal x-ray showed colon thickening. Colonoscopy came back fine. No diverticulitis, etc. Could the X-ray have been wrong or what could have been seen on x-ray that colonoscopy missed? This was x-ray and not a CT. GI did not appear concerned?
No diverticula found on colonoscopy. GI says could still be present on outside of colon and only seen on CT. May be source of LLQ pain. Is this right?
