Is there any side effect to removing tonsils like getting fat or changing my voice and how to prevent it?

Possibly : Your voice can change in that the volume of the pharynx gets larger (since the space the tonsils take up is now available for sound resonance), so there can be some change to the resonance. As far as getting fat, there isn't good evidence to show weight gain in adults after tonsillectomy.
