Pus pocket Tonsils: I would get a couple of opinions from good otolaryngologists. Many may choose to not recommend surgery but to put you on a good and effective long term treatment to clear up the tonsil infections and the damage the infections have done. I am in seattle and know several good docs for this here. But, I am limited in my knowledge of what resources you have near roy.

Surgery by Voice ENT: Recurrent tonsillitis can and usually causes a significant impact in your quality of life, not to mention days of school/work missed and the inability to sing while ill. Studies have shown that tonsillectomy in singers is safe and effective, especially when done by an ENT surgeon familiar with the singing patient. I would recommend obtaining a referral to an ENT that your vocal coach knows.
