A member asked:

Can a cold virus cause insomnia, and can it trigger lasting long-term effects? i have always been a strong sleeper and i haven't been tired in 3 days.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It is possible..: .. but more likely it is likely the course of the cold itself can alter your Circadian rhythm a bit. Or if you have been taking medicines to help with the cold, it is likely that they have side effects which are causing you to be "wired". Your body will normalize eventually and sleep will come. Make sure to maintain the normal hours when you would wake and sleep, though.
