Multiple mechanisms: Allergy symptoms are mediated by multiple inflammatory pathways & most allergy meds are anti-histamines that only block histamine release. Their efficacy can be limited in someone with chronic inflammation & therefore other medications (such as nasal steroid sprays) either alone or in combination with anti-histamines may be more effective in controlling yr symptoms. Talk to an allergy specialist.

Environment control: Have you tried environmental control. By getting rid of household allergens such as dust, molds, or animal dander, your anti histamines may work more effectively. Also have you tried nasal sprays.
