Feeding: TPN and G-tube feeds are ways to provide more nutrition to someone who cannot eat/drink/absorb enough nutrition himself. If he is able to grow (taller, heavier) and is able to absorb nutrients from his intestine, then intravenous nutrition isn't necessary. If he is able to get enough nutrition into his digestive tract through his mouth, then he won't need a g-tube. Best of luck to you both.
