A member asked:

I'm prescribed to take 1-2, 5mg percocets every 4-6 hours for a broken collar bone. when i take them, i start to feel hot. is this normal?

Pain Meds: Narcotic pain medications, like Percocet, have lots of side-effects. Most common are drowsiness, nausea, constipation, and restlessness. Feeling "hot" may be from the medication or from the inflammatory reaction your body takes to heal the clavicle fracture. Regardless, pain from clavicle fractures tends to ease rapidly. Recommend using the Percocet for only a few days, then just plain tylenol (acetaminophen).
