Is your: HDL HIGHER than normal????? That's good!!! If your numbers are accurate and there is no family history of early heart attacks I would say your doing just fine!!! Hope this helps! Dr Z

Both: Proper diet is #1 regardless of whether you take medicines or not. If not on proper diet, medicine won't work. However, based on your information, I would recommend a statin or red rice yeast also to control your cholesterol. It also depends on your triglycerides and if your thyroid function is normal. If diabetes or hypertensive, need to control at same time.
