My husband is a smoker but never smoke in front of me. will the smell of tobacco effect my pregnancy? can it cause miscarriage?

Not likely: I believe that extra stress in a pregnant mother puts the baby at risk. It sounds to me your husband's smoking is stressing you some and understandably so. It is a difficult addiction to overcome even when one really wants to stop. See handouts @ drrotchford.com for suggestions regarding tobacco addiction. He likely loves you and the baby a lot but still might not be able to stop.
