Discrepancy: Breathing from the mouth shouldn't elevate the blood pressure unless you're straining while taking it. Nose breathing is more natural,also. You should regard your baseline BP as the one taken while you are relaxed in a sitting position with your arm in a neutral position roughly at the level of your heart. The BP should be just about equal in both arms. You can lower your baseline BP by losing wt.
