Bone v tendon injury: Jamming your finger on basketball could cause tendon or bone injury. If pain on one spot when pressing = bone injury. If can't fully extend finger = tendon injury. Otherwise could be sprain and inflammation. First Aid: Tape to next finger, ibuprofen for inflammation, ice to reduce swelling, elevate hand to minimize swelling. X-ray if not improving in 2 days to document fracture.
