Hantavirus: The virus is spread when particles are kicked up into the hair from rodent droppings, urine or saliva (like when vacuuming or sweeping). “The virus does not remain active for long once outside of its host -- less than 1 week outdoors and a few hours when exposed to direct sunlight.” Per ccohs.ca. Don't worry- From 1993 to JAN 2017 there has never been a reported case of Hantavirus to the CDC.
