Relax!: Hantavirus infections in humans are very rare. In fact there were only 800 cases total from 1993 to 2017. None of them were in Ohio either. Although no one can ever give a 100% guarantee in medicine, the chance that you have a hantavirus infections is extremely unlikely. Hantavirus: I agree with Dr. Rhoads. Only 20 to 40 cases of Hantavirus are reported annually to the CDC throughout the US. Cases can be indentified via antibodies.
