No: amoxicilin isn't enough for outer ear infection, as the bugs are different, you can try this homemade remedy: 50% rubbing alcohol +25 % vinegar + 25% distilled water, 4-5 drops in your ear three times a day, can be used also for preventing future fungal ear infection, if that doesn't work, please see your doctor again and ask for less expensive ear drops as acetic acid otic drops, good luck
